Bento #161 - Monster

Lian Mama always has nice, cute and special bento for her boy. Got once, she fixed two monster for Elson and the monsters were extremly cute. I got permission to steal the idea from her house (*o^) but unfortunately my monster was not so nice compare with hers.

The monster egg sandwich was cut using triangular rice mould. I never prepare rice ball for Isaac. The purpose I bought this mould is to use it as cutter. Surprisingly it can be used as sandwich cutter, therefore I love this mould very much. I packed some pears into the bento.

Bento #160 - Tuna Tart

Again, I created my own recipe after the "Bread Sushi"(^_^), let me show you what so special about the tuna tart. Look at the pictures below, probably you can spot the distincttiveness. (".")

Let me open the clue (probably you already have the answer), I replaced the base with bread. Isn't it brilliant (hahaha), save time and less hassle to prepare the "skin" (shhhh... I don't know how to make the skin actually).

Some brief description how I prepare bento today:
1 :: Use cookie roller to flatten the bread.
2 :: Use round cookie cutter to cut two circles from the bread.
3 :: Place the bread in muffin tray.
4 :: Put some tuna (mix with some moyonaise and sweet corn) on the bread.
5 :: Top it with some cheese.
6 :: Bake in oven for ~5 minutes.

Here is the finally result - TUNA TART (*o*). Taste really nice! But if the bread is cruchy, it will taste even better. Maybe I need to toast the bread before adding tuna on it. Will try it out next time when I get a smaller muffin tray.

Bento #159 - Pikachu

This two bentos were specially for my niece and nephew, Isaac didn't want bento this week, the reason was he wanted me to have a good rest (can sleep 30 minutes extra). Such a sensible child, thanks Isaac! But this is the only time I can prepare bento for my sis's kiddo, they are enjoying a week of school holiday. I did prepare Mini Mickey Pizza for them yesterday, but since it is the same as my previous bento, so I didn't snap photos and make a post on it.

Pikachu is also my nephew's favourite cartoon character, but my niece prefer Squirtle. I have never try to play around colour egg sheet, so can't make her what she loves. Let me try it out one day, then can fix a more colourful bento, not only orange, yellow and red.... hehehe

Bento #158 - Street Fighter ~ Chun Li

I wanted to make Hamtaro actually, mission failed! Since I already have the head cut out and I didn't want to waste, I turned it into a little girl with hair knot. Looked at her, she looks like my childhood favourite Street Fighter character - Chun Li (春丽) (^o^).....

Bento #157 - Alvin and The Chipmunks

Yeah, this time really a 'chipmunk'! Isaac asked me why didn't I fix him 'Alvin' as promised? I did promise to fix Alvin for him, but didn't mention when (v.v). OK, since yerterday I only fixed him a simple bento, I decided to make him Alvin today.

I have Alvin cut out from bread yesterday night and stored it in air-tight container. If I were to do it this morning, wonder what time I need to wake up. Alvin's head I cut it this morning. It was cut using my 'Chip & Dale' cookie cutter. Alvin's shirt was made from two seapack (only the top layer) and joined together. You would be able to guess, the alphabet "A" represents "ALVIN". ("o")

Bento #156 - Just Winnie the Pooh

I have still some chicken floss swiss roll leftover from yesterday, so I packed some for Isaac. I want a quite bento, therefore just cut a Pooh from cheese on place it on top of the swiss roll. I packed two mini sausages into the bento. Another speedy bento (+_+).

Bento #155 - Mr Clown

Ohh gosh!! I am too busy with work recently until have to sacrifice my lunch hour. I do not have internet at home, when want to online, I will go my brother's house, he has wireless installed at home. What a silly right, IT graduated but no internet connection at home. Yeah, so that I have excuses not (unable) to work at home and enjoy family time. Most of the time, I will pack food from home and do some blogging during lunch.

But recently I am too committed to my work, because the software is rushing for release. My lunch hour is used for software testing. Sign !!!! So don't be surprise to see my backdated post (^_^).

Hubby bought Isaac few DVDs last week and he has watched the 'Alvin and The Chipmunks II' during the weekend. When I asked him what I have fixed him for today bento, he told me 'chipmunk'... (n_n). Didn't it looks like clown? ** speechless **

Bento #152 - Chicken Floss Sushi

My 1st sushi was finally out. Hehehe... this is my own recipe (^o^). Guess what, I replaced rice with two slices of rectangular wholemeal bread. I stacked the breads together, rolled it with seawead then put some some chicken floss on top. Fast and simple sushi, just nice to eat as light snack... Hooray !!!!

Bento #151 - Panda Bak Kwa

Isaac's godmother paid us a visit during the weekend and brought us another pack of "Bak Kwa". So today I fix another "Bak Kwa" bento. Unlike minced meat, this slice meat is harder, luckily it didn't spoil my plastic cutter. I intended to cut two holes as the panda eyes, but it's to hard to have the cutter go through the "Bak Kwa", so I just forget about it and replace it with cheese. (^o^)

Bento #150 - Bak Kwa Roti

"Bak Kwa (肉干)" is Hokkien language, English we call it "BBQ Minced Meat Slices". It is one of the food we will surely buy during CNY. "Roti" is Malay word for bread. Yes, the accurate name for this bento should be "BBQ Minced Meat Slice Burger". Bak Kwa can only last for 10 days unless it is vacuum-packed. I purposely kept few slices in fridge so that it won't get molded, then I can prepare this as breakfast. I heated it up in oven for few minutes before consume it.

I packed one chocolate into the bento box, wish Isaac's day is as MERRY as the chocolate packaging (*o*).
