Ring.... Ring.... Ring.... Ohh gosh..... it's time to wake up. "Baby.... wake up lor... let's go to watch the Merdeka parade". Thought he will laze around for few minutes, but no, he woke up immediately after hearing the word 'Merdeka'.... :) On the way to LRT station, he double confirmed I didn't forget his flag and cap.
It is 7am, the station was full of passengers, all towards a destination - Merdeka Square. As expected, both road sides were full of crowd, mostly Malay, follow by Indian and tourist. You will hardly see Chinese in this kind of event or celebration. We found a good place under a big tree. Weather was cloudy but fortunately not rainy day.
Malaysia 51st Independent Day. When 'NegaraKu' song was played, Isaac follow everyone stand straight and sang loudly (He sings NegaraKu everyday in kindergarten). During Beijing Olympic, I did explain to Isaac when a country song is played, everyone has to stand staight to show thier respect to the country. "Merdeka... Merdeka... Merdeka..." Everyone in high spirits. Isaac didnt want to left behind, he shouted loudly with his hand raising high :)
Finally the marching starts. Band from few high school and association, various type of tank with all soldiers in green face, fireman & fire engine, air jet performance.... Badminton champion - Lee Chong Wei joined the parade too. Isaac waved his hand excitedly when seeing Lee Chong Wei. Malaysia 1st astronaut - Dr Faiz Khaleed was there too...
The parade took about two hours. Again, the LRT station was packed will people. We managed to squeeze in and reached home tiredly....
