Bento #77 - Little Panda

Unbelievable.. it's bento #77 and today only I found out nori that I have been using all this while is not suitable for bento decoration (@_@). No wonder it becomes out of shape after explore to the air. Should use roasted seaweed which mainly for handroll instead of seasoned seaweed. ~~phew~~

I saw this bento before in one of the japanese bento mama's blog, but can't recall which website, will link it up if I happen to find it. Such a great improvement, it only took me half an hour to complete it, after using the correct ingredient and right tools... (*_*) I think I am now addicted to bento making....

This is how I arranged the bento so that it can be closed nicely.

Bento #75 - Submarine

I only spent half an hour on bento today, it's considered pretty fast to me as I normally spend about an hour (^@^). I cut the ham into wave line, left it in the oven then went and hang out the laundry. By the time I got into kitchen, the ham was ready (^_^).

Oops... now only I realized how come the submarine is above the sea? Probably it is reaching the shore...

I added some fishes into the deep sea (^o^).

Bento #74 - Bulldogs

I am so excited with my new tools -- "Quail Egg Multi Cutter", for sure you will see quail egg in bento today. This is my first time preparing quail egg for Isaac. I have quail egg mould, but already frozen (keep aside) it because the picture printed on the egg is not obvious, you need to get right size of quail egg to have better result.

I didn't manage to get carrot from nearby supermarket, thus, I substitu it with ham. I hard boild two quail eggs for 1st try (as usual, always give a try first... kekeke). I made a mice which has no whisker and the other one intent to make little chick, but mission failed as I cut the egg white too deeply. It has gone into my stomach then (@_^).

Only one quail egg for Isaac for sure it's not enough. I prepare two bulldogs. Can you see what is the difference between the first two bulldogs? Yes, different chin. Initially, I use light cheese as the base, then found out the two teeth is not obvious. Immediately I swapped the base with BBQ cheese.

Bulldog with light cheese as the base.

Is this bulldog looks better compare with the 1st one?

Isaac gave me a call before going to kindy. He asked why I didn't use the Shinkansen bento box. Ops.... thought he might have forgotten. I told him because I didn't pack fruits and it's too big for two the bulldogs and a mice. Luckily he agreed with my answer. ** phew**

Again, Bento Gadgets !

I know my new tools from Ichiba Market gonna arrive this week, but really didn't expect it would arrive this fast, it's all the way from Japan ler!

When I got the parcel from admin, I just can't wait to tear the wrapping, just like small kids open up thier birthday present. Few of my collegues came to me, we are all exicted (*_*).

Cannot deny, bento tools are really costly, that's why I only ordered four items this round. These four gadgets I have been hunger for long long time. Among the tools, "Quail Egg Multi Cutter" is most wanted. It comes with two cutter and one puncher and a booklet on how to use it. It seems simple and fun, but can only tell you more when I have used it.

The "Japanese Sandwich Cutter", you will not see in the online store as the seller email me directly. Still remember I have mentioned about this cutter earlier and said that will only buy it if I really need it. But really could not resist the temptation when I saw the cutter comes with lovely Mickey & Minnie.

The "Multi Nori Puncher" is another nice stuff (^_^). This nori puncher can come out many different faces, it all depends on how creative you are. As for me, I definately need to refer to faces printed on the cover of the puncher... kekekke

This "Shinkansen Bento Box" is for Isaac. It comes with a seperator and belt. When I showed it to Isaac, he just can't wait to use it. So I promised will fix him a bento using this bento box tomorrow.

All right, finished introducing my new tools..... but excitement is not over yet !!!!

These two picks I bought it from Daiso early last month and have already used it couple of times.

Mickey jelly mould bought from nearby supermarket.

Bento #73 - Brother Bear & Sister Bear

Do you realize that the sister bear looks abit out of shape? Yes, you are right, she is actually a sister rabbit. This photo was taken when they were lying on the bed (^_^). All the sudden, sister rabbit's right ear broke (probably because I didn't put a pillow beneath it). I have no time to re-do, so just simple break the left ear and decorate it as bear. Here comes the name "brother bear & sister bear".... kekeke....

Bento #72 - Helicopter

At first plan to decorate the helicopters using cheese, but wanna give a try on egg sheet taught by shoppingmum. My egg sheet wasn't that successful, it's not as smooth as what I expected. Besides, the egg sheet taste abit different after adding diluted corn starch (@_@). Will have 2nd attempt... hehe

The helicopter chassis and screen is made of egg sheet whereas the fan is made of cheese.

Bento #71 - Simply Bread

Today I just prepared simple bento for Isaac, simply want to use these picks (^_^).I just bought them from Daiso early last month. I like these picks, the animal on top of the pick is so lovely and the colour is so sweet. It is perfectly fine to cluster small piece of food as it is long enough and thin.
