Bento #59 - Lovely Goldfish Couple

I love this couple, they are quite adorable to me. Isaac loves it too, this is his first marine animal bento ^_^

Tips of the day: If you want to cut a flower, I find it easier to cut the inner circle first. If the cutter you use to make the inner circle is thin enough (just like straw), then it's fine to cut the outter shape. The cutter I have is quite thick, thus it breaks the flower, especially when i use seapack or cheese.

Bento #58 - Golden Hamsters

Today's bento is hamsters. As you can see, I really put some effort to scratch it out a night before. I cut the bread and stored it in air tight container. This morning, I dipped it into egg mixture, then pan fried it so that I got the golden effect... kekeke.

Every morning, Isaac will take a look at his bento before I put it nicely in his bag. As usual, he have a look at his bento this morning. I actually put the hamsters in another layer after snapping few photos. Hubby trying to tie the bento box nicely with bento strip after showing it to Isaac. What a sad thing, 2nd layer slipped away and dropped on the floor.

I went office ealier today, didn't watch the whole scene. According to hubby, Isaac was stunned and both eyes turned red. But he dare not cry, just stared at his Papa. Hubby feel so sorry to him & me. He hugged him and apologized.

Isaac called me on his way to kindy. He told me Papa dropped his bento. When he talked, his eyes again turned red. But when I asked him whether he felt sad, he said nope. So today his bento solely apple @_@

Hubby did called me to apologized too, he felt guilty as all my effort was wasted. It's OK, no body wants that right? Cheers.... ^_^

Bento #57 - Cartoon Pandan Egg Cake

There is a little stall selling cartoon pandan egg cake at night market. They have Hello Kitty, Doraemon, Pikachu, Melody... all are cute but I have never tried it.

Yerterday went to night market with my sis. Her kids requested this pandan egg cake. I also get some for Isaac. Of course I will not missed out Pikachu as it's one of Isaac's favourite cartoon (^_^)

I packed Doraemon & Pikachu and half golden kiwi for Isaac, the other two egg cakes have gone into my stomach... kekeke... Tell you what, it taste so so only (^_O)



Few of my friends asked me what I did to the remaining bread. Since I only need to arrange today's bento for photo snapping, I decided to show you how I handle those balance....

Store the unused and remaining bread seperately. The remainder I will bring to office as my lunch. Dip it into hot milo taste not bad :)

Big piece of balance, I will spread some jam and it becomes breakfast / lunch of the day :)
If I can't finish the balance by Friday, then all will go into dusbin. This is rare case anyway (@_^)

Bento #56 - Animals Meat Floss Sandwich

Another speedy bento... found it really simple to prepare this type of sandwich if you know the secret recipe ^_^

Tips of the day: Impress the animal face after the sandwich is sealed will make the animal more prominent as you can press harder and you do not have to worry it might cut out the bread. :)

Bento #55 - Butter Bread Sticks

When I was working in KLCC, I used to buy Meiji Plain Cracker from Isetan. We love this cracker very much. Hubby and I love to dip it into coffee whereas Isaac loves to dip it into chocolate sauce.

Ever since joining current company, I have never buy this cracker anymore. Why? They have increase the price, from RM19.90 to RM RM29.90 T_T . Besides, I can't find this big packet selling in nearby hypermarket.

Last week, all the sudden think of this cracker, so decided to prepare some butter bread sticks as substitution. I cut the bread into rectangular (I cut it yesterday night to speed up today's bento-ing, as I have meeting with Brisbane office every Monday), speaded some butter on it, then toasted it in oven. I melted few dark chocolates in hot boiled water as the chocolate sauce.

Bento #54 - The House of Lovely Owl

I still have small portion of Swiss roll, so decided to try something special. This lovely owl family bento looks pretty easy to prepare, infact, it took me more than 1 hour **phew**. Everything was done free hands, the owls, eyes and beaks.... that's why it was time consuming. Job would be much more easier with the right tool ^_^ No cheese in my fridge, so I substitute it with egg sheet.

My poor little boy having flu. Hopefully he will still enjoy today's bento. Get well soon, my little prince!

Bento #53 - Smiley Snail

Feel like eating Chicken Floss Swiss roll. Travel all the way to Taman Desa, my favourite cake shop - RT House. No luck to eat, only left green tea, sesame, coffee and chocolate swiss roll. Isaac chose chocolate flavour.

So I decided to make snail bento for Isaac. Source of this idea is from shoppingmum - snail bento. Again it's a speedy bento, only nori cutting takes me more time. The eyes and cheek were cut from artificial crab meat. By the way, if you are looking for Carla Craft "Expression" puncher, one of the bento Mama - Arlene is selling it now. She got it directly from supplier. Do check it out, it is really useful in bento-ing.

You might wonder how I close the bento. This is how I close it, I removed the orange and push the snail down. It fits nicely in the Pikachu bento box. :) Where is the orange then? It's in my fridge, I just used it for photo snapping as the orange doesn't taste good.... ^_^

Bento #52 - Triangular Boys

It's a rainy day, so hard to get up from the bed. Ahh... we sleep in aircond room, make no different whether raining or not right? Kekeke... mentality issue. ^_^

Intend to make a naught cat, has already scratch it yesterday night. But this morning after cutting out the body, I have the feeling mission gonna fail again... kekeke... So end up, come out this --> Triangular Boy... @_@
